Making Fun Party Bags for Kids

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

Kids are picky. We all know that, and sadly, most of the time we ignore it. When it comes to birthday shopping, party planning, etc. sometimes we just want to get the job over and done with. But being creative and fun doesn’t have to be hard. Here are some quick tips for making fun party bags for children.

If you have chosen a theme for the party, try to find party bag filler ideas that go with the theme. This doesn’t have to be difficult. If you choose a basic theme, such as princess, or farm, rather than a specific one (ie Disney Princess or Peppa Pig), you can choose items from lots of different lines and companies as your party bag fillers.

Some children’s toys that make great fillers can be found in the party section of general department stores, grocery stores, and online retailers such as toy stores and department stores with Web sites. Look for miniature toys and items like stickers, erasers, and pencils are also great.

Get your friends in on the hunt. People love to look for things, and if you tell them the theme of your party you can get them to help you locate children’s toys and other items for the party bags. You might even get a little help with paying for them.
Finally, if you need more ideas—simply as your children. The party bags don’t have to be surprises, and children always have great ideas for small items that can go inside.

Are you stuck for party bag ideas?

Although most youngsters love attending a children’s party, they tend to have short memories and often the only things that remain clear in their minds are the party bag fillers they received on their exit from the event. This means that getting the best items is important, as it will affect how successful the celebration is seen to be.

But it can be tough to know what to put in these bags. After all, you are balancing a number of factors. Presumably you do not want to break the bank in order to purchase the items for the kids’ party bags. Therefore, you will be looking for good value products. In addition, you have to make sure the children’s toys are appropriate for the gender of the tots you are handing them to. This can be achieved either by providing generic sets that could suit either boys or girls, or by preparing different bags for male and female recipients.

Another thing you have to bear in mind is the small size of the kids’ party bags you will be filling. After all, if the products to not fit in them, they would have to be handed over separately and this would somewhat defeat the point. Despite all these considerations, sourcing such offerings is easy if you go online.

There are a whole range of gifts available that perfectly suit this purpose and all you have to do is decide which you think would make the perfect end to the children’s party you are throwing.

Don’t Forget the Kids’ Party Bags

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

No party is complete with the take-home goodie bags at the end. But, with all the other preparations needed ahead of the big day, they can be easy to forget. Or you may only realise your omission at the last minute.

Parties don’t always come cheap, and if you’re buying up to 15 children’s party bags, of course you’ll want to keep costs as low as possible. The Internet can save you time and money when you order all the party bag fillers you need online. And, remember, the most expensive gifts don’t necessarily always prove the most popular.

Most kids’ party bags have up to five things in them. Party bag fillers which glow or make a noise (think chattering teeth) tend to go down well. And don’t forget to put a piece of birthday cake in each children’s party bag too.

If your party has a theme, you may want the kids’ party bags to follow suit. You may also wish to consider having different children’s party bags for boys and girls.

At Net Price Direct, we have a fantastic range of great party bag fillers at extremely low prices that your children and their little guests will love.

We’ve got some great idea for gifts for kids’ party bags costing just pennies, from bubbles to mini school stationery sets to bouncy balls. After all, delivery is cheap, and if you place an order worth over £20 by midday, you’ll receive it the next day.

Lazy children’s party bags

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Many people ask us what the cheapest and laziest way of creating a whole bunch of children’s party bags is so we thought we’d spend a few minutes and give you some advice on picking up party bag toys and perhaps more importantly, packaging them. Don’t worry; we aren’t judging you here; in fact one of the reasons we made shopping for children’s party bags so easy is because we know what a pain most people find it.

Firstly you need good loot bags – this may seem simple but kids do often judge things by the packaging they come in so investing a few extra pence in your loot bag may be the difference between the party going swimmingly or your offspring becoming social pariahs on the school party scene for the next few years. It may not seem very politically correct but for younger kids, it will help you enormously to pick visually different bags for girls and boys so that there are no mix-ups. It helps that kids at that age tend not to be very politically correct themselves and boys faced with a bag containing girls toys are not going to be too happy.

Pick a selection of cheap children’s toys to fill up the bags that are age and sex appropriate and if the party has a theme then stick with that. Shopping online for them is easy, click the ones you like, pop in the amounts you want and and just order them along with a selection of good loot bags and they’ll be delivered straight to you.

Personalise Those Kids Party Bags

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Everybody remembers the feeling of “winning” at a friend’s birthday party – pinning the tail on the donkey, besting the others at Musical Chairs – it felt great. That feeling of leaving with a unique item – a prize – is priceless.
A great way to spread the love in terms of making every child feel special is to provide childrens crafts as one of your children’s party activities. You needn’t break the bank forking out for clay or engraving tools to provide a keepsake from your children’s party, just a few environmentally friendly bits and bobs will do the trick.
A popular idea is for the kids to each make a gift to pop into another kids’ party bag. A great place to start is to select a party bag for each child from our online selection. Set out a craft table with a few seashells, some glitter, a paintbrush and some paint per child. Ask each child to make a gift, to be placed anonymously into another kids’ party bag. This is a great way to give the kids an impromptu lesson about nature too.
Perhaps you think the kids would prefer to make a gift for themselves. Cut-and-colour cardboard pictures relating to your children’s party theme are a simple but fun way activity. Cut-and-colour mainstays are masks, puppets (with split-pins for joints) and take-home versions of games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
Colouring-in their own party bags can also be a brilliant source of amusement and makes the whole day a little more special.

The Perfect Party Bags

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Kids party bags are a great memento to hand out at a kids party, and are a way of saying thank you to all your little visitors. However, childrens parties can often be logistical nightmares, as well as quite expensive. Therefore, party bags can seem like a bit of an extraneous expense. With this in mind, what makes the perfect party bag for all budgets?

No childrens party bag would be complete without some birthday cake. And as well as giving your party guests a tasty treat to enjoy when they get home, it will have limited impact on your budget – as you will ideally already have a birthday cake. If you’re expecting a lot of guests, then you should either invest in a large birthday cake, or make an extra birthday cake.

Kids party bags are also a great way to embellish the theme of a party; so, for example, if the party decor is Disney themed, then at Hydes Toys and Gifts you can get Disney party bags – complete with Disney themed surprises.

Unfortunately, a slice of cake just won’t be enough for today’s oh-so-demanding youngsters. Therefore, you should try and include a simple gift also – don’t be tempted to overspend on this, as more than likely the gift will get lost anyways.

If you don’t have the time to make your own kids party bags – never fear. At Hydes Toys and Gifts, we have a wide range of high quality, yet affordable, bags – perfect for any budget.

Party bags: keep it simple

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Childrens party bags are a staple at any kids party, and therefore it is important that as a parent you fight the urge to fill your party bags with the most extravagant gifts that you can afford. Remember, the party bags are for the kids – not for making a statement to any rival parents.

With this in mind, the best childrens party bag is often the most simple, and simple items like bouncy balls will always be more instantly appealing than more extravagant gifts; of course, by not overspending on your childrens party bags, you will also be saving money.

One of the best ways to keep kids party bags simple, is to include some handmade items – which is a great way to get everyone involved in a creative exercise. Some handmade items you might include could be some homemade food, such as brownies or cakes – taking care not to eat them yourself before you fill the party bag.

Of course, in today’s world, not everyone has the time to create bespoke childrens party bags. And luckily, At Hydes Toys and gifts, we’ve got everything that you need to host the perfect childrens party, including plenty of affordable party bags.

And not only that but we’ve got everything else you’ll need to throw the perfect party as well – such as cheap kids toys and other party supplies, such as paper plates etc.  So, make that kid’s party memorable with Hydes Toys and Gifts.

Childrens parties and older kids

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

One day, your little people will be a bit too old for a children’s party; however, as your kids get older, there are some simple ways to adapt a kids party accordingly, and give them a party that they’ll remember for a long time.

First off, there are certain childrens party supplies that are more suitable for younger kids, and therefore they mightn’t be the most suitable as your kids enter their teens: these include things like jelly and ice-cream, or certain party games.

However, there is no reason why even things like jelly and ice-cream can’t be adapted to suit older kids. Perhaps you could give your party food a spooky twist, with some glow in the dark jelly, and sweets shaped like bugs.

When it comes to party games, perhaps you could keep the spirit of classic party games but give them a more modern twist, and perhaps host some kind of tournament – with suitable prizes for the winner.

Also, there is no reason why you should stop giving out party bags at an older kids party – just adapt! So you could get creative with what you put in them, and perhaps include items like friendship bracelets which are more likely to appeal to slightly older kids.

Finally, as your kids get closer to their teenage years there bound to start becoming obsessed with music, and therefore any older kids party should be well stocked with all the latest party anthems!
